“When one side is in trouble, support comes from all directions” is a time-honored virtue of the Chinese nation. Demonstrating compassion and helping employees in need is a concrete manifestation of our Suoyuan family’s commitment to building a people‑centered, harmonious enterprise.
Upon Hu Jingshan’s request, the company’s trade union conducted an investigation into his family’s actual circumstances and, on May 15, 2017, issued a call to all employees titled “An Appeal to Show Compassion for Our Colleague in Need, Hu Jingshan.” The appeal was met with an enthusiastic response from both company leadership and all staff. Company leaders led by example, making donations themselves, while each department contributed its share of support. Employees—whether known or unknown—voluntarily donated, without any formal ceremony or public fanfare. Through the collective efforts of everyone, a total of RMB 12,023.5 was raised in just two days, supplemented by a RMB 10,000 contribution from the company’s Charity Fund, bringing the overall total to RMB 22,023.5. On the afternoon of June 19, General Manager Ye, acting on behalf of General Manager Li, personally handed the charitable funds to Hu Jingshan, who is facing hardship.
Charitable donations have a price, but love is priceless. As the song “A Gift of Love” goes: “If everyone gives a little love, the world will become a beautiful place.” For it is through love that our world grows warm; when we give roses, the fragrance lingers on our hands, and in giving our hearts, we reap hope.
Hu Jingshan, an employee facing hardship, tearfully expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for the company’s kindness and for the heartfelt support of our colleagues on site. I promise to work diligently and repay the company’s trust.”
As the sponsorship ceremony concluded to the stirring melody of “A Heart of Gratitude,” every employee present was deeply moved by the warmth of our company family, and tears flowed freely. Indeed, Suoyuan is one big family, and each of us here is a cherished member. Whenever a colleague faces hardship, we all reach out with compassion and extend a helping hand. I am confident that Hu Jingshan has already felt the love and support of everyone. I hope he will face his challenges with resilience, share in the moments of inspiration and strength alongside us, and help spread the hope of love.
