What are the FCC certification standards? The FCC certification process for power adapter products.

发布时间:2020-05-05

The FCC’s primary standards are as follows, with FCC Part 15 and Part 18 being widely applicable:
FCC Standard Scope of Application
FCC Part 15 C/E/F Intentional Radiator Testing
FCC PART 18 Industrial, Scientific, and Medical Equipment
FCC PART 22 Public Mobile Communication Services
FCC PART 24 Personal Communications Services
FCC PART 25 Satellite Communication Services
FCC PART 27 Other FCC Wireless Communication Services
FCC PART 68 Telecommunications Terminal Equipment
FCC Part 15 sets forth regulations for intentional, unintentional, and transient radiating devices that do not require an individual license during operation. It encompasses technical specifications, administrative requirements, and other market‑access conditions.
The products are primarily categorized into four types: unintentional radiators, intentional radiators, personal communication devices that do not require a license, and national infrastructure equipment that does not require a license.
FCC Part 18 sets forth requirements for the electromagnetic emissions of industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) equipment operating within specified frequency bands, with the aim of preventing such equipment from causing harmful interference to licensed wireless communication services.

FCC Certification Steps and Procedures
1. The customer submits the application form (our company provides a blank application form);
2. The client enters into a commissioned testing contract with our company;
3. Submit samples for testing and prepare the electrical schematic, external and internal photographs, an oscillator circuit block diagram, user‑manual nameplate markings, a description of the operating principle, and other documentation (varies depending on the product).
4. After passing the testing, if it is FCC VOC certification, our company will directly issue the certificate of compliance and the test report; if it is FCC DOC or ID certification, our company will submit the application documents to the relevant authority.
5. Once a company obtains FCC certification, it may affix the FCC mark to its products.
Note: The FCC ID certification requires submission of the following list of documents and compliance with the specified requirements:
1) FCC Application Form: Information such as the applicant’s company name, address, contact details, product name and model, and applicable standards must be accurate and complete.
2) FCC Authorization Letter: Must be signed and sealed by the applicant company’s contact person, then scanned into an electronic file.
3) FCC Confidentiality Letter: The confidentiality letter is an agreement between the applicant company and the TCB that ensures the confidentiality of product-related information. It must be signed and sealed by the applicant’s designated contact person and scanned into an electronic file.
4) Block diagram: All crystal oscillators must be depicted, along with their frequencies, and the diagram must be consistent with the circuit schematic.
5) Circuit diagram: Must be consistent with the crystal oscillator frequency, number of crystals, and crystal placement as shown in the block diagram.
6) Line Description: The description must be in English and clearly explain the product’s functional implementation principles.
7) Instruction manual: Must include FCC warning statements.
8) Labels and Label Placement: Labels must include the FCC ID number and the required statement, and their placement must be conspicuous.
8) Product interior and exterior photos: Images must be clear and well-defined; add annotations as necessary.
9) Test Report: Requires completion of testing and a comprehensive evaluation of the product in accordance with the standard’s requirements.
