Power adapter 3C certification is required for products to be sold in China. In China, 3C certification is a product conformity assessment system implemented by the government to safeguard consumer safety and national security, strengthen product quality management, and comply with relevant laws and regulations. Therefore, all products falling within the scope of the 3C certification catalog must undergo 3C certification and obtain a 3C certification certificate.
3C Certification The primary aim is to comprehensively address longstanding issues in China’s product certification system—such as multiple authorities issuing regulations, redundant assessments and fees, and the lack of clear separation between certification and enforcement activities—by implementing a package of measures that include “harmonizing catalogs, standards, technical regulations, conformity assessment procedures, certification marks, and fee structures.” Furthermore, by establishing technical regulations, standards, and conformity assessment procedures aligned with international norms, this approach will help promote trade facilitation and liberalization.
The CCC certification process for power adapters typically takes about four weeks. During this period, all required documentation must be submitted to the certification body; failure to provide materials promptly will result in a corresponding extension of the processing time.
What documents are required for CCC certification of power adapters?
1. For each application unit, submit two samples of the primary model and one sample of each covered model.
2. If the sample has a non-removable structure, a removable sample shall be provided.
3. CCC Certification Application Form (Please complete in both Chinese and English)
4. Copy of the applicant’s business license
5. Product Manual;
6. Product Specification;
7. Product maintenance manual (if available);
8. Product circuit diagrams (including schematic diagrams and printed circuit board layouts);
9. Description of the differences between the primary model and the covered models within the same application unit (if any);
10. List of critical components related to product safety and list of major components that affect electromagnetic compatibility performance
11. Chinese nameplates and warning signs
12. Photocopy of the certification certificate for the product’s key safety components;
13. Factory Audit Questionnaire
14. CB test certificate and report for the product (if available);
15. Trademark Use Authorization Letter for the Product (if any);
16. Declaration of Conformity
