4 charging methods for electric vehicle chargers
Do you know the common ways of electric vehicle chargers? There are 4 ways of electric vehicle charging methods as following:

1. Electric vehicle charger—float charging.
The charging method of the intermittently used battery or the battery used only when the AC power is cut off is a floating charge type.
2. Electric vehicle charger-balanced charging.
For a battery pack composed of many single cells, such as a fixed battery, after a certain date of operation, regular equalization charging is required. It is because when the charging is performed under the same conditions, the active materials in different parts of the electrode plate have different charging degrees, resulting in an uneven reaction of the active materials. In addition, considering that some charge and discharge characteristics are also different between single cells, some single cells will produce an undercharged state. When the battery is used under the same conditions, it is beneficial to perform regular equalization charging on battery maintenance.
3. Electric car charger-constant voltage and current limiting charging.
Constant voltage current limiting charging is mainly used to remedy the shortcomings of excessive charging current during constant voltage charging (the method is the same as constant voltage charging), and the charging is automatically adjusted by connecting a resistor (current limiting resistor) between the charging power supply and the charged battery current.
When the charging current is too large, the voltage drop on the current limiting resistor is also large, thereby reducing the charging voltage; when the charging current is small, the voltage drop on the current limiting resistor is also small, and the voltage loss of the charging device output is also small. In this way, the charging current is automatically adjusted so that it does not exceed a certain limit.
4. Electric vehicle charger-constant voltage charging.
Constant voltage charging means that each single battery is charged at a certain constant voltage (generally the number of single cells x 2.5V). Its main characteristics are: the current at the beginning of charging is quite large, the battery electromotive force and the relative density of the electrolyte rise faster, and the charging current gradually decreases as the charging continues, and only a small current passes through at the end of the charging; the charging time is short and the energy consumption Low, generally the battery can obtain 90%-95% of its own capacity after 4-5 hours of charging; if the charging voltage is properly selected, the entire charging process can be completed within 8 hours, and the entire charging process does not require human care, so it is widely used in supplementary charging .
