At present, there is no practical breakthrough in smart phone battery technology. Fast charging technology is very important. After changing to a smart phone that supports QC3.0 charger charging. The biggest experience is that the charging speed is much faster.
However, I also noticed that this smartphone supports Qualcomm's latest QC4.0 flash charging. But when buying a mobile phone, it comes with a standard QC3.0 charger as standard. Is it necessary to change to QC4.0 charging head?
Let's first take a look at what QC4.0 improves compared to QC3.0 charger:
QC4.0: Increase the power to 28W, and add USB PD support. The 12V voltage file has been cancelled. The maximum output of 5V is 5.6A, the maximum output of 9V is 3A, and the voltage file continues to be subdivided into 20mV. The manufacturer claims that it can charge from 0 to 50% in 15 minutes. 20% increase compared to QC3.0 charger
Look at the QC3.0 charger: the maximum charging power is 18w, and it supports 5V 3A, 9V 2A, and 12V 1.5A charging modes. USB PD is not supported. From my current charging experience, the standard charging head charges 24% in 15 minutes and 49% in 30 minutes.
From the data point of view, the charging performance of QC4.0 is improved a lot. In theory, just change the QC4.0 charging head to support QC4.0 fast charging. But in fact, it is not that simple. I saw the fast charging test of this smartphone on the evaluation website-the actual test uses a charging head that supports QC4.0 to charge this phone, and the input power is still 18w. That is to say, the replacement of the charging head does not support the QC4.0 fast charge of this smartphone.
As for the reason for non-support, I suspect that the charging IC is not compatible. So the official has not released the charging head of QC4.0 before. I suggest that you still don’t just buy a third-party charging head, because it is very likely to be incompatible with this machine. As a result, you still use the QC3.0 charger to quickly charge.
